  • Creating a mural

    by

Throughout April I have been painting a mural on the wall of the children’s library in Victoria Park. The whole experience has been both terrifying and wonderful.Sometimes we don’t know what we are capable of until we try. I almost didn’t take on this job. The task felt beyond me. Then I broke it down into stages and asked for...

  • Line, mark and colour.

    by

A new painting begins as something not quite there; a colour or colours seen together, a need to draw without knowing where the line will go, a twist of the wrist that makes a mark. • The test that is an exhibition

    by

Six of my paintings are in the Freedom School exhibition at the Moores building in Fremantle. Leading up to the exhibition there is a drive to create new work. Then comes the decision making as to which works make the cut, then the excitement of opening night and then the introspection and soul searching. Why didn’t a work sell? Where...

I felt like Alice in Wonderland but instead of going down a rabbit hole I stepped inside the pages of my picture book and met all my...
