Wire and lines.
I am settling in to my new studio above Paper Bird Children’s Books and Arts. In the beginning it felt lonely and I would go for a walk rather than work but slowly the muse took over and now I want to be there every minute of every day.
The Garden Dwellers story has a new life and is taking me places I find challenging and exciting. I have made some of the little characters in wire and the wire work seems to be an extension of the lines that come when I paint.
Alone is good I’ve decided. Alone is when you find your characters have become your friends. Alone is giving myself permission to play.
One day I thought I was alone(the room is high up and only one door). I did a little dance and shouted at my painting. Then I heard a noise behind me and turned to see a man on the roof of the next door building sweeping leaves. I waved hello.
